I experience this twice in a month.
From the alarm date-time tag The boot pool was DEGRADED while scrubbing the boot pool itself.
I already reinstall the OS in new USB stick.
But afraid of happening again.
I have zfs check down here. vvvvv
This one is the first time:
Hi to all, I would appreciate any help!
Today the pool was lost. I have 3x wd red drives on freenas.
Some days ago I saw a degraded message on the dashboard and I wrote down the serial number of that drive. I then changed My PSU and all the cables and the message went away after I restarted.
I ran past my freenas box 15 minutes ago and saw a number of messages on the console. Great. I logged into the web interface and found this error:
The volume tank1 state is DEGRADED: One or more devices are faulted in response to persistent errors.
Checking the pool status shows this:
Firstly, due to personal reasons, my current NAS setup was never fully completed upon last rebuild, adding all the email stuff for alerts and scripts etc. That was my bad, but I just wasn't using it either, until recently. So I had undusted the box to try get a good working Plex setup again...
I'm a newbie, and I've done a bit of reading around here. My system is

Just had a data drive fail. The Hot Spare kicked in. The good drive was resilvered without errors. However, the pool is still showing as DEGRADED. What additional steps do I need to take?

I have a big issue with my freenas. My both pools (for the os (name: freenas-boot) and for my data (name: pool)) were degraded with a lot of errors:

I re-purposed an old CAD workstation to run FreeNAS RC1, about half an hour after initial boot I got a re light indicating the boot volume is degraded. I used a brand new 120 GB WD green SSD. How can I tell if the ssd is faulty? I've seen other threads with people having issues with ssd...
Hello everyone. I have a workstation machine running Debian stretch with 24 GB of RAM + 8TB WD Red with an exact setup in another city (at my parents home) and they mirror each other with a nightly rsync script. I'm running out of storage (83% occupied). I've decided to give FreeNAS a shot and...
I've been seeing the following messages for at least 2 weeks now, but I've been unable to find any specific information about what's going on. I've scoured the forums as well as Google, but I can't seem to find anyone else who's hit this message.

My FreeNAS box had been running FreeNAS-11.1-U2 perfectly fine since it came out, and had been running continuously for about three months. Then, a couple hours ago, BAM! -- it rebooted for no reason I can figure. (I confirmed that the reboot was real via the uptime, which was in the minutes...

I have loaded Freenas on two SSDs and get a degraded message in the GUI. If I load Freenas on to each drive separately the system shows healthy. Is there something I am doing wrong, should I try to mirror the drive after the first drive installation?

After I have done the replace and finished resilver the old disk is still being listed and offline (I have already removed it from the machine) and continues the DEGRADED state. What should I do?

I have been running freens on my fileserver almost a year now. I originally installed it with 9.10 and updated to 11.0 after going to Corral and reverting back. No issues so far. Today I notice that 11.1 is out and I update my 11.0-U4 install. After boot I log in and I see a critical notice that...
I'm on a budget and only have 5 3TB Hard Drives lying around, but I want to at least get 12TB of storage. This is just going to be a test pool for now with some simple and already backed up things stored on it, but going forward if this does end up turning into a more heavily relied on storage...

I've had my FreeNAS setup for a few years now, but it's recently been claiming to have a degraded volume. When I check disks, one of my new disks is missing from the list. Then, when I restart the server, the disk is back. I get this problem every other week or so.
When I run a check...

I tried changing a drive, but when i unplugged it, the sata ports changed i think? what was ada3 before became ada4 and ada4 became ada5. Now my volume is unavailable because 3 of the disks have the status removed, even if all the original disks of the volume are connected.
My ada5 disk keeps falling off of my pool. This is the third time. I get the following error on the GUI when it happens:

It's not my day, the new server parts for my freenas build didn't pass POST, and now I got a degraded pool :( Probably because I was upgrading some parts and moving the chassi around and booting several times.
Im hoping its a problem with a sata cable and not a broken disc it self. How can I...

I've been having some terrible performance issues over SMB with my FreeNAS server and I haven't found a source to the problem (I just upgraded to 32GB RAM). I tested the ECC RAM for 24 hours, no issues overall there.
I'm thinking it's a problem with FreeNAS/USB Install and NOT my Zpool...
I am new FreeNAS user. My setup consists of:

Just a quick question that I believe I know that answer to but want confirmation (or denial) from the community.
Currently my raidz2 vdev is degraded (as referenced here). The replacement drive has come but I will not have physical access to the system until next week. The system is currently...
On FreeNAS when a disk fails it's pretty hard to tell which disk is the culprit, especially on large storage arrays where you have many disks.
In the FreeNAS web interface I can only see the gptid of the failed disk. If I click on the volume and then View Disks the failed disk no longer shows...
I have been getting a warning that my pool is degraded. It does say scrub have repaired 531M. Now my question is should I be worried or replace the disk "Right Now". I have a fairly good backup system in place with continuous backup to external disk and offsite backup via...
