I've backed up all my data to a separate NAS so I decided to install the 9.3 Beta. I'm checking the updates every evening and installing them as they're released. Everything is working as it was before, I've encountered no issues although the following two alerts have been present since the initial upgrade?

Those are just warnings and you can uncheck their boxes to not display them.

If your LSI firmware is below 16, use the instructions in http://doc.freenas.org/9.3/freenas_alert.html to update it. If it is more than 16, you can ignore the alert.

The feature flags alert refers you to the portion of the 9.3 docs to refer to for further instructions.

It says the Supermicro X10SL7-F has the LSI SAS2308 controller yet I can't find anything on LSI's download page for it? It states "to resolve this alert, download the IT (integrated target) firmware" yet I also can't see this option on LSI's site? I've gone into the LSI config utilty on my system and can see I'm indeed running version 15 so i guess this is something I need to update. Has anyone any idea's on how exactly I do this?

Thanks.

Checked and I can't see anything. Nothing there in the downloads for archived.

That is not correct @dlavigne. The firmware and driver should match. Neither one should be higher (or lower) than the other.

If your firmware and driver don't match, you get the warning. We've had a few cases of corrupted pools and unmountable pools because of the mismatch.

Follow this guide for flashing. Make sure you have your controller ID number before you attempt the flash. You can do that by entering the controller setup menu and writing it down.

You can get the firmware you need at the URL below. For whatever reason it won't link properly so you'll have to copy the address and paste it in your browser address bar.

ftp://ftp.supermicro.com/Driver/SAS/LSI/2308/Firmware/IT/Previous%20Releases/

Thanks mate, that worked.

I did have a little panic though as initially I'd upgraded to the latest version which was 19 without realising and it didn't like it one bit. Upon rebooting my volume had gone! It was obviously still causing the mismatch but this time it wouldn't see the LSI controlled drives at all. I just re-flashed it with version 16 and everything came back.....thankfully. : )
