Will there be regular Beta release updates? If so, is there a set release schedule? When can we expect the next update?

I am keen to update from FreeNAS 11.3-U3.2, but if there is a new update about to be released, I would prefer to wait for that

Hi Tony,

The official schedule is here: https://www.ixsystems.com/community/threads/truenas-12-0-schedule.85194/

The next cycle on the release train will either be BETA2 or RC1. This will be decided base on quality and bugs found. This is likely to be in August.

Between these official release there is a NIGHTLY train which included bug fixes, but may also include new bugs. The NIGHTLY train is better suited to developers or test machines.

Thanks for the reply. That's useful. I can plan accordingly.
I will probably attempt an upgrade later today. The only issues I am seeing reported appear to be on more non-standard installations.

Let us know how that goes! We have well over a thousand systems now running on 12.0 BETA1 / Nightlies, and are the issues found appear to be non-critical in nature.

The actual upgrade went very smoothly and so far I have not discovered any problems With my jails (mostly media related - Plex, Sonarr, Radarr etc).
However I did have an initial panic when I HP Microserver Gen 8 failed to boot after the upgrade. I had recently upgraded my Sandisk USB boot drives to SSDs which I had plugged into the two USB 3.0 ports on the server. It appears you can’t boot from the USB 3.0 ports as they don’t power on until TrueNAS Core starts loading. I need to check the BIOS to see if there is a setting I need to adjust. But once I plugged one of the SSDs into one of the USB 2.0 ports, it booted without a problem
