I am currently thinking about setting up a new FreeNas server.
Can I update straight to TrueNas Core from within that FreeNas server ?
Or will I be required to reinstall the whole server ?

Yes. Just set the update train to TrueNAS 12.0-RELEASE when that train becomes available.

I updated from 11.3 U5 to Truenas 12, seemed to work pretty good (no problems at all, simply switch the update branch and fine). Only thing i find is that the report tab doesnt work, only for cpu but o cant switch to ZFS or Disk graphs. I dont get any graphs at all.

I believe this bug is likely your problem, rumor has it some people manage to work around it by changing themes.

thx, switching the theme worked indeed. But the graphs seem to be a bit buggy as already reported as well. Well, im expecting a fast first update soon anyway.
