Thanks to protosd I was able to get gui start/stop/status working in my subsonic plugin. I will get this working on the 4 usenet plugins and will have version 0.8 up within a day or two.

Thanks for this! Just to clarify the jail / archive datasets don't need to be on a dedicated usb/drive but that is one way to do it.
Also sab / sick / couch / ect.. will all be startable from the gui very soon so your video for setting them up may not be needed.

Also I noticed I never set my nameserver / gateway in my current freenas build and pinging hostnames works just fine in the jail. Maybe it has to do with people's dhcp server (router) giving out default gateways or not, or possibly the ip subnet you put the jail on..

yeh I know about the USB drive, I prob will use a normal drive when I can get one so I dont have to use Mounts.

You'll still need to use mountpoints. I wouldn't have even hinted about using a USB drive, they fail unpredictably and with the heavy writing going on, it's just a disaster waiting to happen.

It's funny how the "Two dumb guys" even made a video about installing plugins. The problem with their videos is you have to listen to all their BS remarks and video effects, and then there's the stuff they're not sure about. Come on, if you're gonna make a video get your facts in order before you make the video and make things more confusing for the people you're supposed to be helping! It shouldn't be a competition to see if you can post your video first, or how many you can post.

sorry i wasnt very clear I meant use the mount points for changing a download location (yeh I would do it unless using an SSD, but i lil pricey just for downloads.) e.g let the downloads folder stay within the jail.

Yup, I'm a dumb ass. Apparently I have a rogue device on my network and my connectivity issue is because that rogue device has that IP address.

I'm going to run ping for a couple of hours but I'm fairly sure that was the problem. I'll wait for V8 :)

EDIT: I've since changed my WiFi password :P

"500 Internal Server Error"

is there something brocken within these pbi's at the moment or is me only?

Did a bit of tinkering turns out the permissions weren't correct therefore sickbeard couldnt process.

Figured that was the problem
Yeah each plugins runs as a different user which can cause some issues. I might make them all run as a single user, just not sure the implications of this, I could also make them all part of a group so that as long as the have group permissions things would work.

BTW 0.8 is 3/5 of the way done (couchpotato,headphones,maraschino), just gotta deal with some pidfile issues with sabnzbd and sickbeard then it should be good to go

Well up until now it was probably a good idea to make them dig since it was a heck of a lot more involved than just installing the pid. :)

Hey guys,
I have seam to run into another problem. I can't access couchpatato through the jail ip and port which I used to be able. When I run

it says

did the ip for this somehow change to 127.0.0.1? Cause my jail ip is 192.168.2.142

Reading on the sabnzbd wiki http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/configure-general-0-7 it says that 127.0.0.1 is the ip that can only be accessed from that computer. Therefore if this is the problem what file should I "vi" edit to the correct ip?

K, well I am almost done. Got sickbeard done, now just to finish the last issue with the way sabnzbd creates pidfiles. Also I consolidated subsonic into the repo and renamed the git repo from 'freenas_usenet' to 'freenas'. If you have cloned the 'freenas_usenet' repo before your'e gonna have to reclone the new repo =[

sorry if pulling is slow, my server hosting it is an old P4 with a slow upload speed, and the repo is like 300MB now..
