We are pleased to announce the release of TrueNAS 13.0-U4. This release includes an update of the Iconik plugin to the latest publicly available release, several improvements, and fixes many issues found in earlier releases. The improvements cover enclosure management for the Mini R, zfs-2.1.8, and then zfs-2.1.9 merged and changed the frequency of AFPInfo xatters reads to option when generating SMB2 AAPL readirattr response.

Quick note about the release notes:
```
NAS-119692 LDAP Encyrption not working
```

This was a user-provided ticket name that wasn't updated. LDAP encryption was working in 13.0-U3.1 (and earlier). There was a parser error related to an LDAP server response due to an invalid (self-signed) certificate.

Pretty smooth upgrade here.

This should be a straightforward and high quality update.. builds on the quality of TrueNAS 13.0-U3.1

Please report any issues quickly.. we'll start recommending updates over the next couple of weeks.

I have noticed that rather than hovering around 40GB (out of 64GB) my arc memory usage now drops down to 5-10GB in short order; is this expected behavior with the new versions of zfs that were pulled in?

"Drops" to this level, or rather that it hasn't grown beyond this level?

The "View Enclosure" on my Mini X+ stopped working with this update.

What's your ARC hit ratio in Reporting > ZFS?

My ARC is sitting at 10GB as well, but my hit ratio is 80-100%, so I assume I just haven't read enough data yet to fill the cache since the system rebooted.

See the following graph for an illustration (the gap is the reboot for the upgrade):

Still debugging. But I upgraded to 13.0-U4 when it came out, and my boot process is hanging while importing my large pool.
Pool is named tank, has 12x12TB drives with 2 raiz vdevs. After 15 minutes it drops a message on the console about "slow i/o" or something. I'll try to capture it before posting this message.

Just noticed there is "spa_load_verify found 0 metadata errors and 1 data errors", not sure what that means or how that impacts importing.

if I hit Ctrl-C and break the import it shows a middlewared error, I then also have to break the multipath process as well.

I'd get a log dump, but I don't have a serial console attached and networking won't come up. I'll post as I discover more.

Interesting, I can't edit my last post. However, here's the message I'm seeing

zio.c:2088:zzio_deadman(): zio_wait waiting for hung I/O to pool 'tank'

Broke out of the import. there were additional errors and pauses while booting. the Web console is inaccessible but I'm able to ssh. However, I can't SSH in as root any longer, and I can't sudo command from my other users. or `su -`.
Just remembered I have a backup from just before the upgrade. I'll roll back and see if the system comes up

Here is an illustration of what happens with the zfs arc in u4, is this expected behavior or should I file a bug report (the gap is the reboot for the upgrade):
WSCb89JAaja8.png

you can also see that though there is no memory pressure the arc target drops during periods of light activity:
