Yes, most likely.
I disagree at this point in time.

I purchased WD30EZRX WD-GREEN on 8/9/2015 and finally had a chance to use install it this weekend. After 14 hours of running, i only see 4 LCC. Do I still need to use WDIDLE or did WD finally changed them?
You didn't give enough information such as you could have turned the power on and off 4 times which would also increase the head load count to 4. Wait 24 hours and post all of the SMART output and I could give you a better answer. At this rate (assuming it stays constant) you would hit about 158,000 load counts in 3 years.

@alexg I would at least check it and see what it's set at. If it's 8 seconds like most Greens are I'd change it.

I disagree at this point in time.
I imagine the low LCC is probably due to whatever workload was being used for whatever testing, though a WD Green with reasonable idle timer would be nice.

26 hours. Perhaps numbers are low because this drive is in my replicated pool and not my primary. Replication occurs on a nightly basis. But I also ran resilvering in the last 24 hours to replace another drive. Does anyone have a link where I can download wdidle3? All the links to WD sites are no longer get you this utility.

Code:
  9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 26
 12 Power_Cycle_Count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 2
193 Load_Cycle_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 15

I agree and I was thinking the same thing, it would be nice to see the default timer changed and maybe it has been, it would be nice to know.

@OP, you sure don't want to post too much SMART data, do you. But if your drive has been constantly busy, your LCC will go up but the question is how fast. Usage is a big factor.

@solarisguy Thanks for reposting those links, I'm sure many others will utilize them in the future.

Guys, thanks for the links. I mean no disrespect, but I don't trust attachments someone posts. The LCC counts continue to grow and here is the latest full smart data (yeah, I was just trying to save you guys reading time by posting LCC data only). I will be making WDIDLE3 changes over the weekend.

@anyview, there were no reports that it does not work.

If you do, please share with us the results and the model number of your drive (date it was manufactured would be a nice addition).
