This is my first error. Looking for some advise. I received an email today saying "Device: /dev/da0 [SAT], Self-Test Log error count increased from 0 to 1"

The FreeNAS GUI Storage->Status still says "HEALTHY".

Running on a RAIDZ2.

These are the results.

Code:
[root@freenas] ~# smartctl -a /dev/da0

smartctl 6.5 2016-05-07 r4318 [FreeBSD 10.3-STABLE amd64] (local build)

Do I run the test again? Or is the DRIVE TOAST? If its toast, why is FreeNAS still saying "Healthy"?

A failed smart test qualifies it for RMA. You could keep an eye on it and see if it produces any more errors but if it were my drive I'd RMA it.

Does Western Digital send me a drive before I send them this one? Id hate to be down a drive while waiting for a drive to arrive. How long does the RMA process usually take?

I personally have never had to RMA a drive but from what others have posted WD will do an advanced replacement RMA. I have no idea how long it takes.

RMA the drive. Go to the WD website and do the Advanced Replacement. They will ask you for a credit card number and then ship you a hard drive. You will take the box and ship back the failed drive in it. The last time I did this the box came with a paid return shipping label, that was a few years ago.

The lifetime min and max temps are in the output from smartctl -x /dev/da0. The output is pretty long, so you could shorten it with smartctl -x /dev/da0 | grep "Min/Max"

If you are talking about a temperature history, that I can give you.
From CLI prompt, type the following:
smartctl -l scttemp /dev/ada0 <<<put your drive label here in place of this example
Code:
[root@freenas] ~# smartctl -l scttemp /dev/ada4

I've requested an Advance RMA. WD sent me a shipping label via email to send the BAD drive back to them once I receive the replacement. So far, GREAT customer service. Do they send a new drive or a refurb?

RMA replacements are refurbished units (all manufacturers do this) but no need to worry,
your warranty will continue with the remainder of coverage the original drive was given when purchased.
It's a good practice to let your refurbished unit come to room temperature before applying power and
performance tests, many IT professionals will wait up to 24hrs. or longer for this to happen.

Should I and can I test the HDD with BADBLOCKS (I think that's what is done on initial NAS setup)? Or just pop it in and hope the replacement is good. How would I test it in the FreeNAS BOX. No other systems available to test on.

It has probably been tested at the factory. I would pop it in
and immediately run and long smart test via the CLI. If no errors
are reported, add it into the pool and then do a scrub and check
zpool status command via SSH. Is the drive with errors still powered up in the machine?

Yes, the bad drive is still "ONLINE" with the pool.

When you say "CLI" do you mean SHELL?

Yes! There's no rush, you have a RAIDZ2 vdev and one bad sector on one drive, why skip the due diligence?
How would I test it in the FreeNAS BOX.
Install the drive and run badblocks on it from the command line. If you don't have a spare drive port, or you want to be super cautious, disconnect all the other drives first.
