Hello guys,
I built a mini media server using the Asrock C2750D4I Mini itx motherboard.

It's been working a treat up until recently, all of a sudden it wouldn't boot up properly.
I plugged it into a monitor and it won't display anything.
I plugged a keyboard into it and it won't light up.
The only parts that does work on the back io are the network slots.

I am able to turn it off and on via the remote control over lan.
However if I were to try use the IPMI, it won't display.

What would you recommend doing to error check?
I've tried unplugging everything but the ram and turning it on, the display still won't come up, so I don't know what is causing the issue.
It doesn't have any inbuilt speakers either.
Ideas?

Oh also, if I plug the HDD's back in they spin.
That could be because there is power to it, I am unsure.

Hi,

It looks like an other case of AsRock C2x50 issue. There have been several issues with these motherboard models lately.

Here is one thread on that subject:

But search in the forums you will find some other threads with more detailso and you can check if your problem is similar.

Briefly: the issue is about the watchdog writing regularly to the IPMI eeprom which fries it and then the system won't start.
This is a bug from AsRock but no fix proposed yet (didn't check if there are any updates on that matter though).

Solution: RMA the board to get it changed (and then disable the watchdog).

Very strange since I didn't have watchdog enabled. Thank you for the feedback, I have had a look through other threads, they seem to be have similar issues, but not what I'm having. I wish I could just have a visual error message....

That would require a somewhat funtional system, which the likely failure mode doesn't allow.

Do an initial search on the forum. There are a lot of people experiencing this with the particular board.
