FreeNAS 9.10 vs FreeNAS 10 RC1 Nightly Build?

Forgive me for sounding completely ignorant, but is the difference in the 2 download options?

I have used FreeNAS in the passed so I not completely in the dark.

I just loaded FreeNAS 10 RC1 Nightly build onto a PC. The interface is cool, but other than that what's the difference? Why are there 2 builds?

FreeNAS 9 is the current stable, FreeNAS 10 is under development. Both are actively developed.
