Hi!
I would like to know what would be the way to proceed in case of a complete hardware failure where I will have to start again with a fresh TrueNas installation.
The main questions is: The stored data in a 2 disc mirror would be accesible again? if so, what would be the correct way to do it? and if ZFS encryption was activated?
I have been searching through the forum but answers don't fit my questions exactly.
Thanks in advance!
;)

just keep regular backups of your config including secret keys and in case of a hardware failure just install fresh and import your config.

@rgmagritte

Welcome!

1. Automated periodic backups of your config.
2. 3-2-1 backup strategy.

Without backups in case of a complete hardware failure you would lose your data.

Then it's ok, losing the pool is pretty much the only way to lose data (if you are using ECC and have a proper scrubbing process).
