Avoiding SMR drives

I'm in the market to replace some of my drives, but saw all the news surrounding the SMR drives last year where drive manufacturers snuck them into NAS drive lines without disclosing (see here).

Has anyone gone through this recently. I would like to avoid SMR drives. Which brands or specific serial numbers should I be looking for?
