No matter the installer option (graphical/serial), I have the same problem - the installation screen is a small square at the left top of the display, repeated to form a line.
It's completely unreadable, and I can't continue installing it.
I also have tried 12.0-U8 - it has the same problem.

Is it something about the 13th gen Core graphics?
Or maybe I should try Scale?
The intended use - a small home server with some apps (plex, photo archive, phone backups, etc).

13th Gen is not fully supported by the current Kernels that core and scale use.

BSD support lands with BSD 14 and Debian support with Kernel 6.2
Scales next big update later this year will have Kernel Version 6.X, but for Core to get BSD Version 14 will take some time i guess.

Not every industrial board has a BMC.
Most server-grade boards do, but my point was that gaming hardware doesn't and that's one of the reasons it's not suggested.
Following the rules and listing your complete hardware specs will result in us doing less guesswork.
