These use an Atheros chip that has miserable driver support. It's no wonder you can't get this to work. The whole Killer NIC moniker was marketing BS.

Your motherboard is also very inapt for TrueNAS. You're building a server, not a gaming PC, and the design criteria are much different. A gaming PC is all about performance. A server is all about reliability, and standard features of your motherboard will need to be disabled to achieve reliability.
  • Disable all overclocking
  • Disable XMP RAM profiles, and only run RAM at stock timings
  • Disable extraneous peripherals, like sound
  • Disable WiFi
  • Disable all Realtek and Atheros network interfaces

What are you plugged into? Can you ping the TrueNAS from your PC?
@Samuel Tai isn't wrong, but it should work albeit poorly. If you running it off a 100mb switch, though, it shouldn't matter much.

Can you draw a diagram of how everything is connected?

motherboard dram disabled.jpg

the old gaming pc is connected to lan4 tplink router and tplink router wan is connected to telus modem lan1. My download speed is 150 mbps and 40mbps upload speed and I have ping my ip address for that old gaming pc for truenas and it didn't work at all. I have disabled all of the above so far and unfortunately it didn't work.

I left out that you should get a cheap Intel PRO/1000 PCI-E NIC from eBay, instead of your onboard Realtek/Atheros NIC.

I’m not sure what data your router actually shows you, so without additional clues we may be stuck here. Can you see the ports on the router and whether or not they are active? Does it tell you if a device is connected, maybe a MAC address?

update I've managed to the network access to work and I basically disable the lan controller and renabled lan controller and it finally work. Now I ran into some issues. It doesn't show ada0 and type the command on the shell gpart destroy -F /dev/ada0 and the result shows device busy. One hard drive able to detect which is ada1 not ada0

unless you have something interesting setup, ada0 would likely be your boot drive. do NOT touch your boot drive.
gpart destroy -F /dev/ada0 unless I am very mistaken, this is literally the command to destroy your boot drive. it's kind of busy.

Maybe consider investigating and fixing one problem before you create another.

TrueNAS isn't a racecar, it's a semi for data; take your time and understand how things work before you drive you and your data off a cliff.

I would have to redo the truenas for two hard drives. I know doing partition will not work for UI and what command prompt would I need to just to do my partition on the command prompt before I redo the truenas since I would like to create at least 4 drives. My first hard drive has 932 G and the 2nd hard has 699G. Or would I need to buy at least three hard drives.

the boot drive is, will be, and can be, the only thing on that drive. TrueNAS doesn't store data on the boot drive. there is no command to do this. please do not try. trying to do so leads many people astray.

you need a minimum of 2 drives. 1 boot drive, 1 data drive.
the boot drive is best as a small SSD. I use the kingston a400 120gb. plenty.

TrueNAS will use the whole data drive for data. there is no partitioning needed.

If you have to ask, don't. Just don't.
