Can you describe how your second FreeNAS server was set up? There’s not enough info to go by currently.

I followed the freenas video on installing plex in 11.2.Everything went fine until plex after picking up the tv shows then they dissapeared. I tried looking at the shares I created in the dataset, but could not find anything. I must have changed something in the share settings that cause my media files to become inaccessable. Any help will be appreciated.

I have tried numerous fixes to enable permissions. None of them worked.

Again, stop panicking. Please describe in detail how the second FreeNAS server running plex was set up. You haven’t provided enough information for anyone here to help yet.

Still not enough information. This is what we need: The layout of the datasets in the pool. Please provide the output of zfs list.

i added a user
Which user did you add, and how did you define the user's home directory?

then i edited an existing share
Which specific share did you edit, and what did you do to it?

For screenshot 51, you forgot to check "Apply permissions recursively".

For screenshot 50, your user is actually plexmedia, not plexuser.

Your choice. Just make sure the share is owned by the correct user and group, and has the correct permissions.

Just deleted share and created a new one. The new share appears in explorer, but access denied. I can't understand why.

For guest access, make sure you set recursive permissions on the folder to allow read/write/execute to others.

Remember to restart SMB service after making changes to share permissions.
