How to backup and restore jails?

Hi, I have a pool with 2 4tb drives and I need to upgrade it. I have 2 more 4tb that I'd like to add to it. I have them currently striped but I want to raid them now. Do I have to destroy the old pool first? I've backed up all my data except my jails because I don't know how to do that. How can I backup my jails (both warden and iocage types) and restore them after I build the new array? If I just try and copy the data off, my plex jail for some reason will symlink to my movies and try to copy all 3tb of movies as part of the jail for some reason. Could I format the 2 new ones as a raid, copy the data to them, then add new drives to the array or does it need to be done in one shot? If it's one shot, how do I backup and restore my jails?

1. If you want to transform a stripped pool into a raid pool, you have to destroy the pool first. Nevertheless, you can attach additional drives to mirror an existing pool without destroying your pool.
2. To backup/restore jails with iocage, you can use either
   • iocage export and iocage export (tutorial)
   • ZFS replication
