Volumes and disks

when setting up Freenas, I get to the volume set up and my disk is not listed, however when I "view disks" my disk is shown. How do I get the disk to become available?

First of all I think you need to read the forum rules again and then post the requested information so we are on the same page and minimize making assumptions.

Next using the code tags provide the output of zpool list and dmesg | grep SATA and if the last one does not provide any results then just provide the entire output from dmesg and we will help out. You need to enter the shell (left side of the GUI pane or you can use SSH terminal if you have set that up). Also, the dmesg file resides at /var/log/ if you cannot capture the data, then just post the dmesg.today file.
