Hi!

Unfortunately I have that infamous Microsol Back-Ups BZ1200-BR.

It is connected at the /dev/cuaU0 port and NUT is capable to read some values correctly through the "solis" driver:

Code:
root@freenas:~ # upsc ups
battery.charge: 100.0
battery.voltage: 27.1
device.mfr: Microsol
device.model: Microsol Back-Ups BZ1200-BR
device.type: ups
driver.name: solis
driver.parameter.pollinterval: 2
driver.parameter.port: /dev/cuaU0
driver.parameter.synchronous: no
driver.version: 2.7.4
driver.version.internal: 0.65
input.frequency: 59.6
input.transfer.high: 150.0
input.transfer.low: 75.0
input.voltage: 121.1
output.current: 2.0
output.voltage: 117.4
ups.load: 21.4
ups.mfr: Microsol
ups.model: Microsol Back-Ups BZ1200-BR
ups.status: OL
ups.temperature: 0.00

The question is: why FreeNAS takes some time to recognize that the UPS is there?

It seems as though the driver for this UPS has issues.
The thread linked above has the issue opened Aug 25, 2015
and is still going on as of 27 days ago. I seriously doubt it
will ever get done after all this time.
