You necro'd a 3+ year old thread.

If you are on an 8.x release, you won't be able to upgrade via the GUI, like you can with newer versions. Also, the 9.1.0 mentioned here, is not the same as the current 9.10.2-U1.

It's possible to upgrade, you just need to take baby steps. 8.3.1 -> 9.1.0 -> 9.2.0 -> 9.2.1.9 -> 9.3.1 -> 9.10.2-U1

Add some in between for testing each upgrade. Since the boot device is separate from your data, you data will remain intact.

Ensure that your system meets (or exceeds) the minimum specs. Also note, that if you used UFS, it's not supported on 9.3 and later. 9.3 and later only supports ZFS.

How you do upgrade through GUI? I did not find any option for upgrade. Does all the data in hdd remain same?

Thanks for the reply. Now I have 2TB drive which is already full with data. I want to add 4TB hard disk and want whole data of 2TB in 4TB with same data set and user as in 2TB. How to do?
