hello,

I'm trying to install Freenas on a home-made computer.
I followed the installation steps ( boot on flash drive, installation of the system on the SSD.... )
There was no issue until the first reboot, when I start the computer, everything loads, but when I reach the point where it's supposed to show me the ip address of the graphic interface : It displays the message : "unable to connect, please check network configuration"

I checked the ethernet cable and the rooter port, they're ok.

Here is my configuration :
Motherboard : asrock b360pro4 ( with ethernet Gygabit Intel port )
CPU : Intel Pentium g5400
RAM : 8gb ram
System drive : SSD 120Gb
Storage disk's : 2*4To

What's the cause of this network issue?

Should I install another network card?

Assuming you are attempting to install the latest STABLE version,
try these steps found here in the documentation.

If this doesn't fix you up, post back with FreeNAS version and network
hardware AND configuration settings.

Thanks for your answer,
I tried the installation again ( of the last Stable version as you assumed ( 11.1-U5) ) and followed each and every step of the tutorial, but the issue still occurs.

When I tried to configure network interface I have no interface option ( such as 1)em0 in the example ) so I can't do anything.

Considering the Network hardware : I'm directly connected to my "Orange Livebox play" using a cable ( checked and properly working )

The ethernet port of the motherboard is a Giga PHY Intel I219V
( vendor = 'intel Corporation'
device = 'Ethernet Connection (7) I1219-V'
class = network
subclass = ethernet )

This port is properly working ( I updated the motherboard UEFI using it )

It seems that it's compatible with FreeNAS since 2016 : https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/support-for-i219-v.41608/

But I can't find anymore information

Do you require some other details?

Do you have an idea of what causes this issue?

This would tell me that your Orange Livebox is not communicating with the OS!
I wonder if your ISP could help out, I doubt that this is a FreeNAS issue.

As an after thought... Is the live box set up for DHCP

I checked the settings of the livebox, the DHCP is on ( and working )

I tried to boot FreeNAS on another computer and everything worked. :/ ( I was able to connect to the graphic interface )
So I think that the issue comes from the fact that freenas doesn't recognize my ethernet port ( on the server ).
I know there's a driver for this port avaible with FreeBSD, should I try to install it?
If yes : How?

Thanks for everything
