Hi all,

Could you check with dmidecode the max speed of your cpu?

I found with demidecode it lists an E3-1241v3 as max 3800 single core speed.
The correct single core CPU Max Speed is in fact: 3900 MHz for this cpu!
And for all cores it is 3700 and correctly displayed in systembios.
Are we missing 100mhz at single core top speed?
My bios version is latest version 3.0a of course.

See: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Xeon/Intel-Xeon%20E3-1241%20v3.html

Output from dmidecode:

Processor Information
Socket Designation: CPU

I think you're getting confused. The 3.9GHz is the MAX turbo frequency, meaning it can burst to this speed, providing this is supported by the OS. It's max speed is indicated at 3.5GHz as per Intel ARK.

Performance
# of Cores 4
# of Threads 8
Processor Base Frequency 3.5 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency 3.9 GHz
TDP 80 W

Max turbo frequency is the maximum single core frequency at which the processor is capable of operating using Intel® Turbo Boost Technology. Frequency is measured in gigahertz (GHz), or billion cycles per second.
