Hello,

I have just purchased a 6TB WD Blue and have installed it on a temp machine while I test and run it in. I started off with a short test, and I note the errors at the end of the log.

There is not much revealed with a Google search. Does anybody understand the cause of the problem? Should I be returning the drive to the retailer for exchange?

Thank you

It could be a problem with the Windows version. Is the drive connected to an internal SATA port, or is it on a dock?

Thank you,

It is connected internally via a SATA port. I am running Windows 10 Pro v1703.

The other drives I have permanently installed on this computer don't have this issue. They are a 4yo 3TB Seagate Barracuda, a 3TB WD Blue that I installed 3 days ago, and an Intel SSD.

Do you still feel it is an operating system issue. If yes, any clues on how to resolve it?

No, probably not Windows-related if it works on other disks. Could it be normal for a brand new drive? If not, maybe it really is a defect. But I wouldn't be sure of that until I tried it on FreeNAS and had the same results.

/dev/sdh? Are you running smartctl on Windows Subsystem for Linux?

Looks like the software has problems accessing the logs. Not a drive issue.
If you're really worried boot from an Ubuntu live DVD/ USB and use the disk utility to check the results.
If you really must use Windows the speedfan tool from Almico will test the disk and explain the results for free.
