Wow, a 5 day scrub. Well you can expect the resilvering to take just as long I would think. I would replace drive WD-WCC4E4JL934K first because of the location of the failures on the hard drive. Your other hard drive only had read errors near the end of the disk.

Also, if you can leave the system powered off until a replacement drive arrives, I would do that too.

This is definitely helpful. The 934K started having issues before the 9D6R. When the problems started the 934K had 46 pending sectors when 9D6R had 0. 934K is holding the number and now its gone down to 44 whereas 9D6R is now at 461. But yes I'll definitely take your advice and throw the 934K before the 9D6R. :)

And don't panic just yet about the estimated completion time. A lot of the metadata being traversed early in the scrub is likely to be highly fragmented. Later on it's likely to speed up.

Old thread bump....

I am upgrading components for my Freenas and will be changing from 3TB desktop drives to 6TB Enterprise drives. I run one pool in a mirrored setup and use it for Plex and media storage (music and photos). I will want to use the drives I currently have in a separate pool for additional, non-related storage, but that is another thread.

The drives I am looking at are the Seagate 6TB Enterprise Capacity (model # ST6000NM0024) and see lots of positive reviews for them online and was wondering if anyone here had experience with them?

Those are probably very good drives. I was the OP here, and went with WD Reds. My OLD 2008 RAID 6 lost the first drive about a month ago. 5 WD Red's 750 GIG, up 24x7 for 8 years before the first failure. I was pretty impressed.

Just yesterday, I replaced a 3 year old Seagate drive in my security system. Guess what I put in there? WD RED.

WD REDs are getting a lot of love from me here. I think I have bought 13 of them (4Gig) in the last 6 months.

I know the REDs are very popular but these drives have a 5 year warranty and are priced less than the comparable size WD drive with free shipping right now from a pretty solid online seller. I'll probably go ahead a jump in for two and see what happens.

I typically don't have an opinion about drives as I have had pretty good luck with them over the years.

WD Red has a pro variant which offers 5 years warranty. 6tb variant is available.
These drives have an MSRP of about $500/ a piece. The WD pro i I think are about $300 a piece. Actual deals and offers might vary the prices as you said. Also to reiterate the wd reds are (apparently) better for vibration dampening especially in stacks of disks. I do wish you luck with the drives and do keep us posted about the first impressions and performance boost gained if any. Could you also mention ∆T of the disks. Just for a comparison for people who wish to compare this later to other disks. Thank you.

Thank you.

I was able to pick these up for $219 each delivered. Very good reviews on a few websites so I feel pretty good about the purchase. If the delta T is an attribute that can be found using S.M.A.R.T. provided with FreeNAS, please give me the ID # and I will pass the information on. If not, tell me where to look and I will get it for you.
