Yes, once the patch is released we'll be rolling a 9.10.2-U4.

Received this today:

A new update is available for the FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE train.

Version: FreeNAS-9.10.2-U4
Changelog:
#24116 Bug Expected Update Samba to 4.5.9

Does this update incorporate a Samba security update? Has anyone installed it yet?

Good. Since you created an SMB how-to video I presume that you use SMB. Any unintended consequences to the U4 update

Correct. I was even the one that opened the bug ticket in the update :)

No issues seen.

It shouldn't really cause any issues. It was a very small fix.

So in terms of issue(s), seems it did something to my system. Post-installation of .U4, cannot see server folders in Windows explorer anymore.

This has happened in the past and have solved it by: deleting shares > rebooting > creating same shares again

A bit of annoyance really.

Boot back into U3 and see if the problem is still there. If there were any major issues with U4, I for one will be Ɓitching, and very loudly.

Tested it out and indeed after booting back in .U3, the drives have popped back up. A bit of chin scratching for the devs?

Update: So it seems like somewhat expected outcome of the update - 'Note this can disable some expected functionality for Windows clients.' (samba.org)

Koola'...2 weeks.

Will this security fix come down the 9.3 train?
