I am trying to implement multiple freeNAS backup servers for multiple people and i was wondering if there was a way to monitor all of the servers SMART information at once? Hopefully in a gui format that would show drives going bad with color codes or something similar?

Wouldn't that be more appropriate for a product such a NAGIOS?

Ive heard of Nagios by googling around, can Nagios be iplemented into a freenas system?
Someone else can probably give you a more sensible answer on the practicality of installing it on freeNAS (I assume you're using freeNAS 8) than I can. There are, however, a few threads that cover the topic: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=+nagios++freenas&ei=UTF-8&fr=moz35

I run several servers 24/7 and I was think more along the lines of using another server for NAGIOS (or one of the alternatives).

I have been looking for this too. Really don't understand why it wouldn't be there, as it is standard on other NAS systems I've used. I found some command line, but that's a pain. Also, I don't think the SMART monitoring system is working, I'm not sure if it only emails out on problems, or if a status is also emailed.

The SMART in FreeNAS only send an email if there is a failure. You could create a CRON job to email the results as often as you like.
