I recently had to install a new USB for my OS. To add insult to my own injury, I can not find my saved FreeNAS config backup file anywhere.

I have been able to reconfigure my CSIF, AFP, UPS & iSCS setting no problem. But now I don't know how to start recovering / using my plugins again. (See screen shot) ... The plugins are still there as a Jail.. but when I go to the plugin area, they are not showing as installed, and I can not access them.

I am sure I am missing something, but I don't know what terms to search the forums with.

You won't be able to use the jails without reinstalling them(or someone giving instructions on how to hack in all of the jail info).

Hello,

I've recently stumbled across this post and have similar issue.

I've deployed new Freenas 9.3
Imported ZFS volumes
In Jails -> Configuration I browsed to old Jails path that contained all the Jails that were installed prior to crash
all the jails started showing up after that and I could manage their configuration and get them running

So currently Couchpotato, Subnzbd, Plex are running and I can connect to their web UIs.

Now, the situation is that neither one of them is showing up as an Installed PlugIn.

Is there anything that can be done to get Freenas to recognize and manage those jails as plugins so that i could use freenas Plugin feature to maintain those?

If you are a pro at hacking SQL databases, you could probably hack in the required entries to the SQL database.

There's a reason I told the OP he has to rebuild them or hack them. It's 100% correct.

If you are a jails-only user, you simply have to point to the old jails path like you did and like magic it will "just work".

Plugins are literally jails with the extra WebGUI stuff (the on/off switch and the extra WebGUI hooks for the "plugins" tree menu item). So without the crucial info, you are kind of screwed.
