Hello
Have a BlueWalker PowerWalker UPS VI 750 R1U, and I am trying to install on my FreeNAS, but is not doing so well. This model I have is not in the list. Tested with other models from PowerWalker and get the same problem: "Communication with UPS is lost".

Does anyone know how to get UPS to work with FreeNAS, or do I have to change to another model?

Best regards,
Njanja

The datasheet for your UPS says it supports USB HID. You could try the usbhid-ups driver.

According to this bug report, the usbhid-ups driver allows communications with that model of UPS, but reports incorrect values. You'll have to use a different UPS, unfortunately.

Not really feasible. See this other forum thread on bhyve USB pass-through. In short, you'd need to compile a custom kernel for FreeNAS. It's easier to get a different UPS.

A Pi wouldn't work. Nut doesn't have a driver for this specific UPS.

Ah, I didn't follow your link for the bug, and had assumed it was a FreeNAS bug rather than a NUT bug. Though I guess a Pi would give an environment more conducive to hacking, so might still be usable that way...
