Hello,
I have a problem with my PowerWalker VI 600 UPS. When the UPS is connected to my Server, after a while I get the following message:
Code:
FreeNAS upsmon[15307]: Poll UPS [PowerWalker_UPS] failed - Driver not connected

PowerWalker_UPS is the name I specified in the UPS service section. I am running the latest stable version of FreeNAS 11.1.

Is the USB cable connected directly, or through a hub? Or is it USB?

The USP is connected via USB directly to the Server.

do you have the ups service set to the correct port?

I tried a different cable, but after a while I get the error:
Code:
FreeNAS upsd[9717]: Can't connect to UPS [PowerWalker_UPS] (blazer_usb-PowerWalker_UPS): No such file or directory

Followed by the same as before:
Code:
FreeNAS upsmon[15307]: Poll UPS [PowerWalker_UPS] failed - Driver not connected

Does no one else has any solution? I am really desperate at the moment.

When you connected the USB cable to the USB port on your server, did you get a message on the console display in the FreeNAS GUI that identified a /dev/ugen or /dev/uhid device name in the console messages?

OK. And not that it may be critical, but ugen0.5 is the option you selected in the UPS service configuration screen?

You say "after a while" you get the "not connected" messages - how long is "a while"?

Sure, I selected ugen0.5 in the UPS configuration. The messages appears after about 5-10 minutes.

And did you try all the other options?

I'm confused by the 5-10 minutes - my system notifies immediately (less than a minute I guess) if connection is lost. I'm not sure I understand the potential significance of what you are experiencing though - have you talked to "Powerwalker"?

I don't think it makes any sense to select other /dev/ugen*.
