Removal Notice

In TrueNAS SCALE 24.04 we will be removing the OpenEBS-ZFS container storage interface (CSI) driver support.

How this will affect you​

If you are a new user, you will not be affected by this change at all. You will continue to enjoy the same smooth apps experience with Official Catalog as well as Unofficial ones, provided the Unofficial apps are configured as outlined below.

Existing users who only use official apps are also unaffected by the change, as these apps do not use OpenEBS-ZFS CSI drivers.

Following are the user groups which will be affected:

• Existing users or new users with Unofficial Catalog apps deployed. Unofficial apps which use OpenEBS-ZFS CSI drivers will work fine for now, but users will not be able to make backups or restore any existing backup for those apps.
• New users trying to install Unofficial apps which use OpenEBS-ZFS CSI drivers will have problems deploying them.
• Unofficial Catalog app maintainers using OpenEBS-ZFS CSI drivers need to work on shipping a CSI to be used in their apps or, alternatively, use the one which is already provided in SCALE.

Removing code which is unsupported by TrueNAS is an important part of ensuring stability for all users as SCALE continues on its amazing growth trajectory. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated!

Not to our users:
We're working on resolving the issues presented here, till that moment new installs and updates of TrueCharts SCALE Apps on 24.04 "DragonFish" are blocked on purpose and we do not officially provide support for the BETA yet either.

Hence we advice to watch our annoucements to be the first to hear when all issues are resolved :)
