New user, first post.

When first setting up TrueNAS scale i didn't know what i was doing so i setup 1 pool with 2 mirrored zvols.
To fix this
  1. copy everything I care about (photos and videos) from the server to another machine on the network
  2. delete the existing pool
  3. setup a new pool with raid z1
  4. reinstall and re-setup all my apps
Do i have that right, or is there a better solution?

Generally it's advised to put the apps on a mirror pool. Besides that you can copy the files in many ways not just via network.

Also, do not use the word RAID with ZFS; and zvols are a different thing, you likely meant VDEVs.
