I just upgraded to FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201504100216 (from the last version, I think it was from the 27.03.2015 if I'm not mistaken)

Sample jail:

No matter how often I change to manual IP and enter my IP and save and restart my jails, the GUI always shows DHCP even though the jail itself is actually using the manually assigned IP I gave it. Somehow the GUI seems to save the settings but not read them back properly.

Can anyone confirm so we can submit this as a bug?

I can not confirm this issue. I created a jail using the same version of FreeNAS, setup DHCP and then went in to edit the jail and changed it from DHCP to a static IP. I unchecked the IPv4 DHCP block and then edited my IPv4 address, netmask, and gateway, then saved it.

Is this a new jail? What happens if you try to do this to a new jail? Did you stop the jail and then try to make the changes?

I created a new jail:

edited it to set it up manually:

saved and checked:

went to edit it again and the GUI is wrong again:

BUT the jail works as expected namely with my manually setup IP so it seems the GUI isn'T properly retrieving the values from the DB after it has written them.

Yes, I tried stopping it then making the changes.

I hate saying this but try to clear your web browser cache or use a different web browser. That is all I can think of right now short of you DB being corrupt. So if your DB is corrupt, did you save a backup of it and if so, you could restore it to see if that fixes things.

I've tried 2 additional browsers apart from my default browser with the same result and I have never used those browsers to administer freeNAS.
Anyway, if nobody can confirm this problem, it must be my problem only.

I don't have a DB backup as this system is quite fresh (2-3 weeks only) and I haven't done anything "experimental" with it.
Anyway, now that I know its just a "cosmetical" error, displaying DHCP settings while its actually using manual settings, all is good.

Thanks for checking on your side and for the tips.

I wouldn't say it's a cosmetic error. Things just don't display incorrectly in the gui for no reason. Something is wrong underneath and you might start to have issues one day because of this.

Since you just built the system why don't you list all the system specs (CPU, RAM, Motherboard, Boot device info) and also just grab another USB Flash Drive (assuming you boot from a USB flash drive) and reinstall FreeNAS on it. You could have something corrupt on the boot device or maybe something is up with your system hardware.
