Is it worth spinning down my disks?

I only really access the drives at night and maybe a few times randomly throughout the day - does it make sense to spin the drives down?

I read some posts about higher wear on the drives if they spin up/down

Leave them spun up. You'll wear them out faster stopping and starting them versus just letting them run. Plus, there's plenty of background activity going on... scrubs, SMART tests, etc.
