I am planning to build freenas system. My primary requirement is initially to store all my photos, videos and files safely using zfs and also take backups and never to lose any data in the future. Additionally run Plex and kodi and transcode to run 4 to 6 jobs to 1080p and I want it to run 4K transcoding in the future. We have 5 HDTVs and 4 laptops and 4 ipads. Also Run virtual iOS and Windows using jails. At the same time future proof my system for future use for a least another 5 to 6 years. My son wants to dual boot and use it as a gaming machine and use GPU. Is this possible to use Freenas for gaming, as I have not seen any mention of gaming with freenas.
Please advise on the proposed hardware that I have selected for the built. Will it work for freenas, gaming is secondary.
