FreeNAS build for Emby transcoding + media streaming

This is my proposed build, having had feedback previously. I've decided to go for Xeon, and use an M.2 SSD for the boot drive. Am I right in ignoring the "compatibility" issue, as SuperMicro seems to list the board as supporting M.2?

Sorry, its the frowned upon PC PartPicker flagging the compatibility.

That won't work. The X11SSH-F only supports PCIe M.2 drives, the one you linked is SATA.

Consider instead an X11SSM-F plus a regular SATA SSD or a SATA DOM.

Otherwise, looks ok.

Also, if I use mirrored vdevs (or whatever the Raid 10 equivalent is), am I right in thinking I can grow it 1 pair at a time?

Sooner or later most should end up with HBA's ...at 60SUD for the trusty 9211-8i ...you've enabled 8 additional ports.
Aka - your next vdev of raidz2 ;)
