I have done exactly as you did when installing (I am using 9.3) but when I log in using mcserver/mcserver and goto Manage Profiles I see:
"Members of this group may update and remove profiles: wheel" and you have Mcserver in your video!
And when I try to update a stockprofile I get the error "User 'mcserver' does not have permissions on /minecraftserver/profiles/profile.config"
What is wrong?? Please help!

I think you also posted this question on youtube and I answered it there.

Oh yeah! "The permissions of your profile file got changed. this should fix thatchgrp mcserver /minecraftserver/profiles/profile.config"
But what do you mean with that answer, I am rather new at using Freenas, and right now I got a lot to of errors.

After I wrote the question on youtube I tried to download the pbi and upload it to install it as "customplugin" the first time it worked and I saw Mcserver in the bottom and I could create a profile, but when I chose update the server froze and I couldn't reach it again...
Rebooted and everything and nothing worked so I had to delete it, then I tried to install it again through uploading the pbi, and now I can't even log out the first time (to be able to log in, since the bug makes login in error) because when I log out it just freezes again and the site is not responding. Really wierd, right?

I'm not sure what you are asking?

There is really no reason to download the PBI and upload it, you can just install it like any normal plugin.

This plugin doesn't work after a fresh boot unless you add a Init command. Please read https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/freenas-9-plugin-mineos.20122/

Thanks for your reply! Sorry, I will try to make it more clear for you! :)
  1. I am asking what you mean by your answer on YouTube. Am I supposed to write "chgrp mcserver /minecraftserver/profiles/profile.config" in shell in the jail?
  2. I see why there shouldn't be a reason to download the PBI and upload it, but somehow that managed to put mcserver as standard instead of wheel as my first question was at youtube.
  3. I get your point here, but the thing is that I stopped it and started it manually and still no success...
  4. Ok, anyhow, I am installing again through the normal plugin tab in WebGUI and try to change the group by writing the chgrp command you wrote at 1. Otherwise I will make a small movie to show you if I made it complicated.

  1. Yes
  2. I noticed the profile path you were having issues with wasn't the default. Did you move over the original profile file? Otherwise, the group ownership would be "wheel" by default.
  3. Hmm, stopping and starting it should run that command.
  4. Ok, hope it works.

It worked now when I installed normally via the plugins in WebGUI, so I logged in and made a profile with mcserver as normal. Then I downloaded the server (update button) and created a server.
Then I realised I hadn't changed the IP-adress to what I like to use and that I made room for in my router. So I turned of the plugin via the plugins button and stopped the jail, changed the IP. Logged into shell and typed in your init command "/sbin/mount -t linprocfs linprocfs /mnt/Volym/Jaildataset/mineos_1/usr/compat/linux/proc" and started the jail and then started the plugin by turning on the button in plugins.

Then I went to mineos WebGUI and was logged in as none, the ordinary bug where you have to log out first in order to log in again. And when I press sign out I get stuck at the "http://192.168.1.11:8080/auth/logout" and the browser answer me with that the webpage aint available. So I can't log out some how and I can't make a profile or anything of course since I am not logged in. Do you have any clue?

There's way too much going on for me to try and figure out your exact problem.

You don't need to run that command and start the plugin. starting the plugin runs the command for you.

Yeah, I am sorry... I let you know way too many details. The main problem is that I can't log in, I can reach the webpage but I can't reach the log in page. You understand me? :)

Are you sure you are connecting and mineos is listening on the right IP+port?
Can you try it with another browser?
Can you try stoping + starting the plugin one last time?

Yeah, I am at the right IP and port. I you watch your youtube clip there in the thread at "1:53 - 2:01" it logs me in automatically but I can't log out.

Actually I can only reach my server via Google Chrome browser, tested internet explorer but that doesn't work at all.

Okey, I am stopping the jail now --> Waiting a bit --> Starting again --> Going to plugins --> Installed --> Press the button from OFF to ON --> It loads but doesn't change to ON somehow, so I refresh the page and now it's ON somehow --> Opening the MineOS webpage --> And now I get the option to login somehow! Seems like it differs from time to time :S

Ok, so after some clicking around sounds like it works? Hopefully it stays that way.

Too bad problem already, OMG. :(

And now when I got to the profile page again trying to make a new profile it says down in the status pop-ups "Server did not respond to requests" .............. :'(

The plugin is acting just as if it was lagging and only responds like every now and then. :S

Can you try installing a second mineos instance and see if you have the same issues? This time don't do all the IP changes.

I've got a question here. I'm able to get a normal vanilla minecraft server up and running just fine and port forwarding works perfectly but what I'm having a difficult time doing is setting up a technic server for attack on the BTeam. Everytime i try it either doesn't start or it'll start but it will be vanilla. IDK if you can help or if you have tried doing this but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

there's definitely ways to have a different jar URL for a profile, or even just to manually download and rename your own jar. I haven't done it myself, but they should be able to help you on the mineos forum.
