I have a webserver on an external HDD that I want to migrate to my new FreeNAS box, however, I want to keep
all the files on this existing drive. I was thinking of passing it through to my Debian VM, is this possible? If not, is there a good way to permanently mount the drive using a jail as well? external is NTFS.

Because it would take up too much space on the drives I already have, plus I bought the external specifically for that purpose. I'm a student so can't afford that much and would like to just still use this semi-new but external hard drive. Edited the post a little bit because I seemed to have made it a bit unclear.
