Dear FreeNAS Friends,

I rebooted my FreeNAS 11 and it wakes up with tones of errors.

However, I just made a day before some savings, like system-config and the encryption keys from my 2 ZFS Volumes.

Am I right, if I reinstall FreeNAS 11 on a new medium, that I can get my data back, anyone knows a step by step guide?

Update: tried install/upgrade but i believe that USB stick is toast.

Reinstalling on 2 USB sticks as mirror now and hoping to restore everything, jails, plugins etc.

Update 2: system started up and is getting the volumes, I guess it will ask for the encryption keys later at the web GUI?

Update: I was able to re-install FreeNAS 11 and used my encryption keys for my volumes and the updated config file.

Now 1 of my volumes is re-silvering and that might take some time, who knows how long for 1 TB mirror.

Most important, everything is running and after re-silvering I should have all my data still available from my 1 TB mirror drives.

Moral of that story? Do not panic, FreeNAS is build very safe and if you update your encryption keys and your system config, you will be fine.
