Hey All,
Had this problem for awhile now. Occasionally I hear my fans pulsing high to low. Not sure what to do to fix? All temps look good.

That is super hard to make out. Next time, could you use the code tags like this:
Code:
root@freenas:~ # ipmitool sensor list all

It looks like fan4 is running right at the threshold speed and it probably falls under speed periodically so the system hits all the fans up to the next speed step because it thinks there is a fan failure.
Just an idea.

Do you know where fan4 is in the chassis?

Hi Chris,
I will be sure to use Code tags next time I post. fan4 is either in the rear or top of my server.

It probably isn't anything more that a bother. If it is bugging you, you can edit the speed setpoints or you could use a different fan. It is all down to how much the sound is getting on your nerve.
The ipmitool that you used to get this list has a whole lot of functionality to adjust things in the BMC of the system board.
Here is a link to the reference:
https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi....3-RELEASE+and+Ports&arch=default&format=html
There is also a fan control script or two floating around the Forum that will allow the fan speed to be controlled by the drive temperature.
