Error: Unable to establish IPMI v2 / RMCP+ session

Hi Guys,

I use @Stux fan script on freeness for a while, was working great however fans working not in full mode and unable to get the script working. i tried using the ipmitool to do cold reset, checked permission but it come back to full mode (fan are spinning in full as well). as well very strange when i run

cat fan_control.log

the log start to run the log entries from 2019 (not live). when i run script test with screen i get that error. the only way i manage to reduce the fan speed is changing the fan mode to standard. my fans setup and configuration didn't changed. i also tried to replace the script no luck.

I did upgrade to from FN 11.3 to TrueNAS 12 but wasn't monitoring the fans prior to the upgrade so not sure if it's related. ipmitool user password is ok as i'm able to run the ipmitool command and change the configuration.

i'm running ESXi 6.7 with FN/TN as VM, see full specs at my signature.

Does anyone have an idea what can cause this error and how to get the script working?
