I have a new, fresh out of burn in, mixed array of 6x3TB drives running raidz2 with 3 Seagate Barracudas & 3 Toshibas.
When doing a local copy between filesystems the Disk Wait Report graph shows the Seagates averaging 20% with two of the Toshibas a little higher. However, the first Toshiba in the array, ada3, averages 80% with frequent bursts pegged at 100%.
Is this normal?
Should I do anything about it?
SMART shows no problems for any of the drives. The only notifications or warnings I get are for my NVMe boot drive exceeding my 42C Critical limit. It's set there for the HDs, but the NVME spikes to 61C a few times a day. If there's a way to set a separate limit for It since it should be safe up into the 70s, I'd be interested.
