Hello
I have attempted to flash a used Dell H310 i picked up on ebay. But before I even got started it all grinded to a halt.
I found this guide; https://tylermade.net/2017/06/27/ho...-lsi-9211-8i-firmware-hba-for-freenas-unraid/
But none of the commands worked. It's like the system haven't detected the card.
I then tried to boot into the Dell H310 bios, but I wasn't able to to that either.
No matter which commands i run, I can't see the card.

Is it just a clear sign that the card is bunk? Or am I missing something?

Edit: The Dell card is not doing any initialsation during boot.
Edit: And the system is a Asus P10S-I with and I3 & 32 Gb ecc ram.

For me, there's nothing more scary than a used HBA that was known to be part of a server known to be discarded for an unknown reason.

You're quite right. But a brand new one i quite expensive. But then again, so was the rest of the system. But is there any brand spanking new LSI card, that won't require crossflashing? Maybe just a firmware update, which isn't as risky?
