Advice on first build

We have had other users in England and Australia use this service to buy things in the US and have it shipped to them because, even with the additional shipping charge, they are sometimes less expensive and they can get things they wouldn't otherwise be able to get.

No the BMC provides simple graphics capability needed to install and setup FreeNAS. After that run headless and, if for some reason you need to that interface you can use IPMI. I believe though it is a VGA only port.

@shipser I am surprised no one has mentioned this to you yet in this thread, but have you considered getting a X9 or X10 based board? It will save you a lot of money because DDR4 is super expensive currently and the slightly older generation equipment might also be easily sourced since you are located in Israel.

Indeed, I wasn't clear about that :) I pulled out an old X9SCM board last night and went to my viewer and forgot my password so I ended up having to pull out an old monitor anyway and FreeDOS util it to reset the IPMI password -- bummer.
