Currently my freenas-boot zpool is on a single SSD drive. I am worried that this SSD drive is a single point of failure. What I would like to do is install 2 new drives and have freenas-boot use those instead. I imagine the process would be to first mirror freenas-boot to one of the new drives...
I have a freenas system that was running on win 2016 server hyper-v with the drives directly passed through. The servers SSD holds the install image. Virtual drive. Etc.
I don’t care much about that part at moment but I do care about the data in the pool.
I am hoping to replace the server...
I'm trying to migrate my Docker VM from one freenas box to another. When I try create a new Docker VM the UI won't allow me to select a .img file that already exists. Do i just need to create a bhyve VM with the exiting files as a raw file device?

I upgraded from FreeNAS 9.10 to 11.1-stable and I’m having trouble with the iocage migration. Maybe I should have just went to 11.2-stable and if that will fix this issue let me know. This is what we are working with.
After the upgrade I updated the ZFS pool to add the features per the prompts...
I really thought i understood computers reasonably well... until i started using freenas lol i guess my issue is with permissions, i installed syncthing and it ruined my other jails permissions and ive been trying to follow guides but they fail or dont react the same way as the guide says, and...
Hi,
tl;dr - Can you import a RAID-Z1 pool in a degraded state in read-only mode? Is this safe?
I'm migrating a large (around 20TB) of data from one FreeNAS machine to another.
Both machines are running FreeNAS 11.
The old machine is RAID-Z1, with 4 x 8TB drives.
The new machine is RAID-Z1...

I've had a FreeNAS box running for a few years now on some old consumer grade hardware and finally upgraded to something actually server class. I have about 7TB of data on my old box that I want to move over to my new box across a segregated VLAN on a 10GbE network. My storage looks like this...
Hi,
I've been using FreeNAS v8.02 for a few years (2011) in a school where my wife is the Principal. Other than the original set up I've had little or nothing to do with it since so wouldn't be very savvy. It has been running fine and there's no real issues. However, the kit is fairly basic...
Hi FreeNAS community,
I would like some help importing my Corral VM into FreeNAS 11 please.
I was using Corral for a short time and created a Ubuntu VM (16.04) from which to do backups of other machines on our network. Like everyone I recently moved to FreeNAS 11, I did this by going back to a...
Hi.
Had a friend set up my server a few years ago, and now I want to move to FreeNAS because it seems easier and has a much larger support base. I'm not the most savvy at ZFS systems, but i'm a quick learner. I am trying to figure out the simplest, or most efficient, way to change my server...
A while back I inadvertently added a 2x2Tb Disk Raid to an existing single 2Tb disk which has my main Dataset on it, I was experimenting with the new GUI in Corral. Anyway, crux of the problem is that I now have a single 2Tb and 2x2Tb Raid config in the same Volume which is not the intended...
