Created install medium from ISO on Ubuntu using dd. When booted and choosing Install on an SSD, I see the following message:

Code:
File "/usr/local/bin/freenas-install", line 59, in <module>
   if installer.GetPackages() is not True:
File "/usr/local/lib/freenasOS/Installer.py", line 1072, in GetPackages
  pkgFile = self._conf.FindPackageFile(pkg, handler=get_file_handler)
File "/usr/local/lib/freenasOS/Configuration.py", line 1274, in FindPackageFile
  raise Exceptions.UpdatePackageNotFound(package.Name())
freenasOS.Exceptions.UpdatePackageNotFound: base-os
The FreeNAS installation on ada0 has failed. Press enter to continue...

Hardware
CPU Intel Xeon E3 1226 v3
RAM 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz
Motherboard Supermicro X10SLL+-F
Boot 465GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500GB

Should I copy the installation ISO to another flash drive?

Having the same issue with two Dell R630 (PERC set to HBA).

Tried the following:
  • SSD, HDD and USB. (USB is brand new)
  • 11.2U8, 11.3U5 and 12.0
  • 2 identical Dell R630
  • BIOS or UEFI

hello
you resolve that problem ??
in many case this things has been resolved with bios/firmware update
at DELL servers that update can be do in the first/second screen for update platform
F10 key I think for update bios/firmware
try that and report after
success

The iso was verified with sha256 on two different. The server is located in a remote datacenter so install via USB is discouraged.

This turns out to be a non-issue but rather a lack of installation progress. After trying different server hardware, hard drives, iso and even client machine. The installation eventually finished after 2hrs.
