Hello all,
Recently i bought a HDD without knowing it was a SAS HDD, therefore i could not plug it to my desktop PC.
I have tried to find solution through internet how to use it on my desktop PC, and i realized it is not that easy.
So i need your help folks. I have z97 gigabyte gaming MOBO that only have SATA controller and running windows 7 OS.
I consider to buy a LSI SAS controller card, and don't want any kind of RAID, just want to see my HDD's individually just like on windows.
I think for that i must have a SAS controller card with IT MODE. Am i correct?
Can you please suggest me a SAS card (I think it should be HBA card since i don't want RAID) that would work with desktop PC?
Can i hook up SATA and SAS drivers to a SAS card at the same time?
What kind of cable i need to connect my 10TB SAS HDD?
