You are not the owner ETA: UID 1000, wheel group.

I had to mess around with permissions while trying to get plex to read my movie folder. That is fixed now but now I have very odd folder permission errors.

I cannot "own" any of my movies, "you are not the owner..." . I have three user accounts on Scale. 1 is root, 2 is plex, and 3 is me, same username as my linux comp.

No matter who "owns" my movies on scale, I am always told I cannot "own" them. I can read and write to the movie folder though.

Also, I cannot access my share folder. For my three scale accounts, none of the passwords work.



How can I fix my permissions?

Thanks to another forum reply, you need have a user with a UID of 1000 and wheel group.
