Hello all experts, I'm new to Freenas. I just setup freenas 9.1 and created 2 iscsi targets which my ESXi 5.1u1 can see the 2 disks. However, why the 2 disks are all LUN 0? I'd like one LUN per disk and don't what to share the same LUN between 2 disks.

My 2 iscsi targets already have different serial number, but with the same Portal group and Initiator group. Do I need to create separate portal and initiator for each target as well?

This is intentional. It is a performance loss to have multiple LUNs on a target in iSCSI as they share the same TCP connection and compete for resources, reducing overall throughput if there is traffic on more than one LUN at a time.

Targets can share portal and initiator groups. Select the initiator group number via the dropdown in the Target configuration dialog.

Thanks for dlavigne's reply. Will multiple targets per LUN also suffer performance loss? How can I setup different LUN for different target then?
