So, I have a simple iscsi share

1 zvol, 1 port, 1 initiator, 1 target, 1 extent and 1 associated target.

I now want to add another zvol, and have this appear as a volume on the same initiator that already is mounting another volume.

Should I add another Target? The documentation implies I should.

If I don't add another Target, should I change the LUN on the extent Associated Target?

If I do add another Target... is it then okay for the Associated Targets to both have a LUN of 0?

Ie, is the LUN supposed to be unique, or just unique on a given Target :-\

In my mind I'm thinking of Targets as the equivalent of an old scsi bus, and thus the LUNs are only relevant to that target.

Or are Targets more like devices... and the Portal is more like a bus?

Confused by iSCSi :)

edit: part of the confusion is I originally set the LUN to auto and as part of the U1 update, it seems to have become 0.

Most of the confusion was U1's iSCSI bug.

I found this ixSystems video helpful:
