Hello:
I tried to restart smart service but it stays off. In screen shot I see "unable to register device /dev/da22 which is a 7.9GB drive that should be one of my mirrored boot drives. (the other boot device is a 16G SATA SSD) I have seen posts about USB drive problems before but don't quite understand them. I can remove the SD drive or institute a recommended fix.

thanks.

Turn off SMART for your USB device (da22) then restart the SMART service.

It's a known bug and will be fixed in the next stable release.

strange: clicked on usb drive. turned off smart. needed to reboot before smart service would turn on. now smart service is running. It took a few minutes for warning message to go away - I checked a few times.
Thanks.
P.S. what do you mean next stable release? Running FreeNAS-11.1-U5
