I use mirrored USB sticks for boot. Since I've upgraded to 11.1-U1 I just noticed that smartd was not running. When trying to start the service again I get this error:
Code:
Jan 28 13:53:16 nas2 smartd[30292]: Unable to register device /dev/da10 (no Directive -d removable). Exiting.

This happens even if the USB drives are unchecked in all SMART tests. The only solution I have right now is to manually edit /usr/local/etc/smartd.conf to either add the "-d removable" directive to the lines with the USB drives, or to remove the lines completely. I know this file will be regenerated at some point, so it's only a temporary fix.

Happens on both systems I'm running with USB boot disks. I had this same problem may versions ago (9.3 maybe?) but it had been fixed, now it appears to have resurfaced.
